Data Intelligence Partner

We are looking for an experienced data and intelligence analyst who has a passion for collecting, analysing and interpreting data that enables measurement and management of service delivery and targets.  You will be comfortable in providing timely and accurate information that will enable trend analysis, informed decision making, direction and reporting.

Mahitahi Hauora is a primary health entity underpinned by Ti Tiriti o Waitangi, our Kaupapa includes ensuring whanau and communities are able to achieve self-determined wellbeing, access to the services they determine they need, and to live a long and healthy life.  We work collaboratively with community, primary healthcare providers and key partners to support general practices, Māori health providers and social sector agencies, in achieving better health outcomes for our Tai Tokerau population.

The Position

Our Data Intelligence Partner role is a supported role within the Digital & Data Hub, and reports to the Data Intelligence Lead.  The primary function of this role will be to manage databases and master data creation, provide a quality assurance view of all imported data, identifying anomalies and root causes.  This role will support the development of initiatives for data integrity and normalisation, manage a reporting schedule and ensure accurate data is produced and enables service delivery reporting deadlines to be met.

This role will also be required to perform query builds, maintain data systems, troubleshoot coding errors and support the provision of data and information to enable organisational performance.


To be considered for this position you must have:

  •  A relevant bachelor level qualification in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Management or Statistics or training and experience equivalent
  •  A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data analytics role
  •  Advanced computer literacy across MS Office 365, Sharepoint, Teams
  •  Demonstrable experience in SQL, Python, R or similar languages
  •  Proven ability to analyse large data sets and disseminate data in a visual format
  •  Demonstrable ability in query builds, report writing and presentation of information
  •  A current NZ work visa and the legal right to work in NZ.

 While not essential, an understanding or experience in Power BI or similar platforms, Data mining and database design would be a desirable advantage.
