We are looking for an experienced Accounts Person to support our Finance and Operations Manager and Accounts team in the day-to-day financial management of our organisation.

Mahitahi Hauora is the primary health entity for Te Tai Tokerau. Mahitahi Hauora supports Primary Healthcare providers including General Practices and Māori Health Providers to deliver care and to look after the wellbeing of their communities and whānau. We also deliver care and wellbeing support directly to the community and whānau.

The Position

We are looking for an Accounts Payable / Assistant Accountant who has substantial experience in the accounting business environment, who may have some relevant qualifications and/or is working towards an accounting qualification that will enable a future accounting career.

Key functions include:

  • Accounts Payable and Creditor Management (involves processing)
  • Supporting the management of transactions and the preparation of monthly Financial Statements.
  • Supporting day to day accounting operations
  • Facilities management
  • Fixed Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Reconciliations and reporting

This role will see you working alongside and supporting the Finance & Operations Manager and other members of the Finance team in ensuring sound financial management and enabling the organisation and delivery of services to function.  This position is based in the Far North.

To be considered for this position you must:

  • Have some Business Accounting qualifications, and/or be working towards a relevant Business or Accounting qualification.
  • XERO accounting software experience would be an advantage.
  • Have experience in Accounts payable and general financial transactions
  • Intermediate to advanced level of MS excel
  • Understand accounting concepts
