Office Administrator Receptionist

Are you a keen administrator who likes variety in your role, happy to be the face of the organisation by working at Reception, organised and exceptional at making sure the day to day office operations are well supported.  This role would suit someone who enjoys being the heart of our office, the go to person that supports everyone who comes through our doors, and who has a broad administration focus and ability.

About Mahitahi Hauora

Mahitahi Hauora is a primary health entity underpinned by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our Kaupapa includes ensuring whanau and communities are able to achieve self-determined wellbeing, access to the services they determine they need, and to live a long and healthy life.  We work collaboratively with community, primary healthcare providers and key partners to support general practices, Māori health providers and social sector agencies, in achieving better health outcomes for our Tai Tokerau population.

The Position

This is a permanent full time position located in our Whangarei office within the Administration Hub, and requires a high level of administration ability, a can do attitude, and someone who is happy to have Reception as part of their role and who understands the importance of the Reception function to the organisation.  This is a varied and well supported role that makes a valuable contribution to the wider Administration team in supporting the whole of organisation requirements.

The key functions of this position include:

  • Ensuring an exceptional experience for all stakeholders that interact with our organisation
  • High level of administration support and activity
  • Ensuring all communication is effectively and efficiently managed
  • Maintenance, functionality and tidiness of the general office area and wider communal areas
  • Health & Safety Representative and Fire Warden
  • Managing building security
  • Supporting events

To be considered for this position you should have:

  • An enthusiastic approach to guiding and supporting those who come into contact with our organisation
  • An open mind and ability to change quickly as the need arises
  • Multitasking ability and a willingness to lend a hand at anything
  • Strong administration experience, and be comfortable working at Reception and answering and directing phone calls
  • An intermediate level of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
  • An unencumbered drivers licence
  • Be a NZ Citizen or have a current NZ Work visa and the legal right to work in NZ. 
  • Our employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID

Experience in the health industry would be an advantage however not essential.
